Nima Nuru Sherpa elected president of Mountaineering Association
Kathmandu. Nima Nuru Sherpa has been elected as the president of the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
According to the final results of the election held on Friday, Sherpa won with 735 votes while his nearest rival Rajendra Man Shrestha got 122 votes.
Thakur Raj Pandey was elected vice president of the association with 428 votes. Maya Sherpa, another Vice Presidential candidate, got 423 votes. Aang Dawa Sherpa was elected as the first vice president and Dawa Jangbu Sherpa as the second vice president.
Similarly, Mohan Lamsal won the post of General Secretary with 489 votes while his rival Aang Pemba Sherpa got 323 votes. Dhan Bahadur Gurung has been elected as secretary and Mukti Pandey as treasurer.
Angdawa Sherpa, Hiskhad Gurung, Singi Lama, Pitamber Gurung, Rajendra Bahadur Lama, Ram Chandra Dhamla, Namgyal Jangbu Sherpa, Pashangdawa Sherpa, and Dinesh Tamang have been elected as members.
Likewise, Aangnorbu Sherpa, Lama Babu Sherpa, and Lal Bahadur Sherpa have emerged victorious in the book holder and tourism workers category respectively. As Tulsingh Gurung and Pasang Tenzing Sherpa got equal votes, they will assume the responsibility of half-term members.
