10,000 devotees reach Gosainkund on Janaipurnima

Kathmandu:On the occasion of Janaipurnima festival, thousands of devotees have reached the holy shrine Gosainthan located on Niladhri mountain for bathing and worship.

Since it is a holy shrine that should be visited at least once in a lifetime, more than 10,000 devotees, including women, men, and senior citizens, have reached Gosainthan to worship.

On the auspicious occasion of Janaipurnima, Rasuwawasi, Dhading, Nuwakot, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Parbat, Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Makwanpur, Rautahat, Baglung, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Kavrepalanchok, Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Okhaldhunga, Sidhuli, Jhapa, Parsa, Bara and Devotees have reached Niladhri mountain from Ramechhap district.

Because Lord Shiva saved the animal world by consuming the poison released during the churning of the ocean, it is customary for every person to visit Gosainkunda even once in their life as a devotee.
