326,000 foreign tourists visited Nepal until August 31

Nepal welcomes

Kathmandu: At least 326,667 foreign tourists have arrived in Nepal on a visit from January 1 to August 31, 2022.

According to the department of immigration, this increasing arrival trend of foreigners is a good indicator for the revival of the ailing tourism sector following the lockdown due to Covid-19 in the last two years.

The media reports said that the increased visits of tourists acted as a healing effect for the Nepali tourism industry which was nearly ruined owing to the negative impact of the deadly Coronavirus.

The government has also lifted certain travel restrictions which also paved the way for increased arrival of foreign tourists in Nepal.

Nepal does not count the tourists’ arrival from India via land routes.
