Purnima scaling Mt Manaslu without oxygen
Kathmandu: Climber Purnima Shrestha has embarked upon her ascent to Mount Manaslu since September 5 without the support of the oxygen cylinder.
She is likely to return by the end of September. Shrestha has already climbed other mountains such as Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Dhaulagiri in the past spring though it is challenging enough.
In an interview, she said, “I don’t know what relation I have with the mountains but the mountains always keep calling me. I feel like I can face every challenge for the mountains.”
Shrestha is ascending Mt Manaslu for the first time without an oxygen cylinder though she had started climbing mountains in 2018 by ascending Mt Manaslu.
She has already scaled the peaks of eight thousand meters including Everest, Annapurna, Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Ama Dablam, and Manaslu.
