Tourists returning from Annapurna trail
Kathmandu: Tourists stranded on the Annapurna trail have started returning to Lamjung.
Tourists who could not reach their destination due to bad weather after continuous rain since Tuesday are returning to Lamjung from Wednesday.
Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Tourist Check Center Dharapani Tourism Assistant Kshetra Bahadur Gurung said, “Until the rains, more than 80 tourists used to cross this trekking trail through Manang district every day.”
But due to continuous rains, the trail has also deteriorated and snow has started falling in the upper part of Manang, they have started returning to Lamjung Bensi, the entrance of the Annapurna trail. He informed us that 85 stranded tourists returned to Chame Rural Municipality only this morning.
Likewise, 150 tourists returned on Thursday and 40 on Wednesday. Likewise, the tourists who came to Lamjung to go on the trekking trail are also staying at Bensi Sahar.
According to tourism professionals, the business has started to be deserted again during the tourist season on the circular Annapurna trail, which has been affected due to Covid-19 and cold for a long time.
