Pokhara accident imposes ban on paragliding

Kathmandu: Paragliding across Nepal has been banned after a sportsman died in a paragliding accident during the 9th National Games in Pokhara.

Tribhuvan Army club’s Nisim Thapa died in a paragliding accident during the 9th National Games held in Pokhara.

The officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said that the ban has been imposed for an indefinite period until the next notice for all purposes including entertainment, business, or spots.

CAAN notice specified that an extensive study is being carried out to ensure flight safety.
