Tourist arrival increased in Muktinath area

Kathmandu: There has been an increase in the arrival of internal and external tourists in the Muktinath area of Mustang, a district across the Himalayas.

According to the Muktinath Development Committee, there has been an increase in the number of religious tourists visiting the Muktinath temple and trekking tourists with the increase in the tourism season at Muktinath in Mustang.

At present, with the arrival of the season for visiting Mustangs and visiting the Muktinath Temple, there has been an increase in the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists, and Mustangs are full of hotels in the Muktinath area.

Mustang, which is allowed to do business only for two seasons of the year, is excited by the increase in tourists during the season in the hotels. Local businessmen of Mustang say that with the increase in the number of religious tourists visiting Muktinath and trekking tourism, the number of foreign and domestic tourists has started to be seen in the hotels of Mustang.

The businessmen said that there is a high influx of Indian tourists, especially in the Muktinath area. According to the hoteliers of the Muktinath area, the occupancy rate of Mustang hotels has increased to over 80 percent after Dashain Tihar compared to the normal situation in the previous years.

Similarly, Suraj Gurung, owner of the Grand Samwala Hotel in Mustang Muktinath, also said that after Tihar, all the hotels in Mustang are full of domestic, Indian, and foreign tourists. He said that the number of tourists will increase in October and November in Mustang for trekking and the Muktinath pilgrimage.

Domestic tourism seems to have increased as the current time is the most suitable for visiting Mustang. During the tourist season, Mustang, which is known as the district across the mountains, is crowded with domestic and foreign tourists.

As the movement of tourists has increased, the development and expansion of hotels and other tourism infrastructure in the Muktinath area of Mustang have been increasing.
