Tasi Lakpa Sherpa’s second ascent of Mt Vinson
Kathmandu: Mountaineer Tasi Lakpa Sherpa successfully made his second ascent of Mount Vinson on January 3, 2023, at 7:10 pm.
Mt Vinson elevated at 4,892 meters above sea level is the highest peak in Antarctica. Mt Vinson lies in the north part of the Vinson massif summit plateau in the south portion of the main ridge of the Sentinel Range about 2 kilometers north of Hollister Peak.
Mt Vinson for the first time was ascended in 1966 by an American expedition team led by Nicholas Clinch.
