E-tickets for Humla, Jumla & Dolpa
Kathmandu: Nepal government’s the only national flag carrier, the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has embarked upon initiating online e-ticket system for flights to remote destinations including Jumla from Nepalgunj with effect from Thursday.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) authorities said that online ticketing has been initiated in Humla,Jumla, Mugu, Dolpa,Rukum and Bajura. Domestic flights are operated for these destinations from Nepalgunj.
The authorities informed that the e-ticking system has been started in order to make it easier for common passengers from these remote areas to get the plane tickets easily as against the previous practices of influential people grabbing the tickets for themselves thereby giving no space for the common people to buy the air tickets.
This drastic decision by NAC was taken after the people from these remote areas complained about the dearth of air tickets and inconvenience caused to them in the past and after new Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirarti and another Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha took initiative to put in place the e-ticket system for these remote areas.
