Internet services allowed in Nepali airspace

Kathmandu: Nepal government has paved the way for the airlines companies flying in Nepali airspace to provide internet services during the flights.

The government sources said that such facilities for air lines companies will be allowed if air lines companies fulfill the conditions set by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority in its in-flight communication (IFC) services guidelines.

The conditions state that such facilities can be served by the aircraft flying above 10,000 feet. However, during taxiing, flight and landing at an altitude below 10,000 feet, this service will will not be permitted.

Prior to this, all airlines were barred from using these internet facilities during the flight across Nepali airspace. Such services can also be used by the Nepali airlines too.
