Pashupatinath set for Mahashivaratri
Kathmandu: The Pashupati Area Development Fund has completed all necessary preparations for the upcoming Mahahivaratri to be held in the premises of the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu on 18th February.
Thousands of pilgrims from India are expected on this occasion. So, the security arrangements have been beefed up in the premises of Pashupatinath temple by taking support of Nepal police, armed forces and even Nepal army personnel.
The core committee led by Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kiranti supported by several other sub organizing committees have been formed to look into the affairs of Mahashivaratri.
Arrangements have been made to look after the naga babas (saints appearing nude) on this occasion. The Pashupatinth temple has been well decorated with colorful flowers and electric lights in collaboration with Marwari society.
Unmarried as well as married women queue up since early morning of Shivaratri to offer prayers and flowers to Lord Shiva -the God of Animals and pray for well being of their families. The unmarried women pray to get husbands like Shiva in their lives.
This occasion is celebrated well among the Hindu devotees. Foreign tourists can also freak out here and see the fervor of cultural and religious practices among the people on this special occasion.
