Himalayan Travel Mart 2023 kicks off in June

Kathmandu: The fourth edition of Himalaya Travel Mart is going to be held in Kathmandu from June 6 to 9, 2023.

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter under the ownership of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation is going to organize the mart in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and various international organizations, PATA Nepal said. It has being held every year since 2017, but due to the Covid-19 epidemic, it could not be held after 2019.

PATA Nepal Chapter President Bibhuti Chand Thakur informed that national and international representatives have been invited to participate in Himalayan Travel Mart 2023. He called on all parties involved to participate in the mart and support the revival campaign of the tourism business after the epidemic.

“Covid has badly affected the travel and tourism industry globally. It also had an impact in Nepal. Now that the tourism sector is gradually returning to its rhythm, we believe that the Himalayan Travel Mart project will help in the revival and promotion of tourism in the whole Himalayan region including Nepal”, said President Thakur.

PATA Nepal in a statement has stated that Tourism Minister Sudan Kirati has extended an invitation to guests from all over the world.  Minister Kirati has called upon all representatives to participate in the Himalayan Travel Mart 2023 to feel the vibrant experience that Nepal provides and has called for the necessary support, cooperation in the post-COVID tourism revival.

In the mart, which is an international travel trade fair, sellers from Nepal, India, Pakistan, China (Tibet), Bhutan and Myanmar and Europe, America, Australia, New Zealand and Asia will be partaking.

According to the organizer, buyers from countries, Asia and Arab countries will gather on the same platform. In the gathering, knowledge, skills and experience related to tourism business will be shared.

The Mart, which is organized with the aim of establishing Nepal as the ‘Gateway to the Himalayas’, the center of adventure tourism and a strong tourism-friendly destination, is becoming a milestone for Nepal’s tourism promotion.
