Sheep shelter for high mountain trekking
Lamjung’s Dordi rural municipality has initiated the development of ‘sheep shelter’ for trekkers on the trekking trails of the high mountain area.
It has been proposed to develop sheep sheds as a shelter with basic facilities on the trails within its municipality where there are no human settlements and no hotels.

Speaking at a press conference held on Thursday, Yubraj Adhikari, the chairman of the rural municipality, informed that the rural municipality has identified four to eleven-day trek trail.
“The trails that have been identified under the village municipality are completely new. Those who travel on these trails that are far from human settlements and road networks will get a new experience”, he said.
According to him, a four-day trek can be done starting from Nautharsera in Dordi and passing through Ilam Lake, Lipelek and again from Dasrang to Nautharsera.
In addition, one can travel eight days from Nautharsera to Ilampokhari, Lipe Lake, Nautanche, Mulmche, Ukhand Tanje Nautharsera.
An 11-day trek can be done from Nautharsera Ilam Pond, Lipelek, Nautanche, Mulmche, Ukhand to Bensishahar via Hilletxar, Pishill via Meme Pond, Kumro Danda, Bahr Pond.According to the presiding officer, while traveling on the trail, one can view the mountain ranges including red deer, honey hunting, waterfalls, caves, forts, etc.
Tourism businessman Rajendra Vasti said that Lamjung is a district with good potential for tourism. He said that one can reach a height of 1,900 meters to 4,000 meters on this trail.
Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna to Manaslu snow ranges can be seen from these trails.
