First two NAC female pilots flew int’l flight
Kathmandu: For the first time in the history of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), two female pilots have flown an international flight.
The flight was carried out by the team of co-pilot Srijana Raut along with pilot Bhavana Pant. Pilot Bhavana Pant said that two women pilots flew together for the first time on a flight from Kathmandu to Dubai on Sunday.
Pilot Pant said that this is a historic moment in Nepal aviation. She wrote on the social media, “Historical moment in Nepal aviation.” For the first time in Nepal Airlines Corporation, the history has been created that both female pilots of the national flag carrier aircraft flew together on an international flight from Kathmandu to Dubai.
Pilot Bhavana has been associated with Nepal’s aviation sector for the past 25 years. On Sunday at 12:04 am, the Airbus 320 took off from Kathmandu to UAE.
There were 153 passengers on board. The NAC sources said that this team will return to Kathmandu with passengers on the next Wednesday’s flight.
According to the corporation, all the crew members on this flight will be women on International Women’s Day on Wednesday.
