Int’l peace Marathan being organized in Lumbini

Kathmandu: Lumbini Marathon is going to be organized at Lumbini on Thursday to mark the occasion of the International Day of Sports for Peace and Development.

Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, Nepal Olympic Committee, and Province Sports Council, Lumbini, are jointly organizing the International Peace Marathon-2023 where athletes from 207 countries are participating in the marathon.

At a press conference organized Wednesday, it was shared that the Marathon is going to be organized with the objective of promoting tourism in Lumbini through the medium of sports.

The marathon would start from Tilaurakot Palace of Kapilvastu at 7:00 am and conclude at Shantideep of Lumbini.

Shrestha shared that it was expected that runners from more than 50 different countries along with departmental teams of Nepal would participate in marathon n.

The winner of the marathon will be awarded a purse of Rs 100,000 and the first runner-up will receive Rs 50,000 and second the runner-up Rs 25,000 (RSS).
