Paragliding begins in Chitwan

Kathmandu: The popular tourist destination of Chitwan has started the adventure sports, paragliding flights with effect from April 14, 2023.

Pokhara City has been well known as the major tourist hub and tourist capital until this day.  However, after the launch of the regional international airport in Pokhara, the paragliding activities have almost been shut down for the sake of flight safety of air-crafts.

With this event, Chitwan can replace Pokhara City by being one of the alternative destinations for paragliding flights and adventure tourism activities according to Bijaya Ghale, the chairperson of Himalayan Frontiers Paragliding Company Pvt Ltd.

The paragliders have taken off from Chaukidanda and Kabilas of Bharatpur Metropolis, Chitwan to land on the bank of the Trishuli River in Devghat near Tanahun district.
