Himal clean expedition team at the base camp

Kathmandu: The Nepal army team comprising of 13 personnel led by General Kishore Adhikari assigned for the cleaning campaign of Everest, Lhotse, Barunche, and Annapurna mountains has reached the base camp Sunday according to the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information.

The Himal Garbage Cleaning team is on its mission to clear the Himal of garbage, under the leadership of the army under the government’s national program in accordance with the objective of protecting biological diversity and the environment

The target is to collect about 35 tons of garbage from Mount Everest, Lhotse, Annapurna, and Barunche this year. It is believed that the campaign will increase awareness to reduce the impact of environmental pollution and global temperature which is a global challenge.
