1009 climbers get permission to climb mountains of Nepal
Out of the 1009 men receiving climbing permits from 79 countries, 779 are men and 230 are women. The department says, there has been a sudden rise in the number of foreigners arriving in Nepal to climb mountains this year in this spring season.
The number of Chinese climbers has also increased significantly this year as 113 people from China arrived here. A total of 90 persons from India have also sought climbing permits while 45 people are from Nepal.
Everest this year is going to witness a crowd of almost 41 expeditions as compared to the past stories. So far, as many as 445 people have been given permission to climb Everest which includes 87 Americans, 96 Chinese, and 40 Indians.
Similarly, Lhotes Mountain is going to witness almost 11 teams attempting it this year while 108 expedition teams have already climbed 23 different mountains in Nepal.
