Everest expedition begins as rope fixing concludes
Kathmandu: The Everest expeditions for this spring season have begun effective today (Saturday, May 13, 2023) after Icefall Doctors successfully completed “Rope Fixing” to the summit of Everest.
According to Imagine Nepal, the third phase of Everest rope fixing was successfully done regardless of the emotional, physical, and mental challenges faced during this year’s Everest expedition, under the management of EOA (Expedition Operator Association of Nepal).
The group was led by a veteran guide Dawa Gyallje Sherpa and under the coordination of Mingma G. The fixing team comprised the following highly experienced Sherpas.
1. Dawa Gyalje Sherpa (Team Leader) from Rolwaling
2. Nima Nuru Sherpa from Thame
3. Lakpa Sona Sherpa from Thame
4. Dipen Gurung from Sankhuwasab
5. Pasang Ngima Sherpa from Phortse
6. Lhakpa Tenjing Sherpa from Thame
7. Phur Galjen Sherpa from Thame
8. Dawa Jangbu Sherpa from Thame
9. Suman Gurung (Photographer) from Gorkha
This has paved the way for hundreds of climbers waiting for favorable weather to scale Everest in this spring season.
