Chartered flights from Pokhara to China in the offing
Kathmandu: Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has said that chartered flights will start to different cities of China from Pokhara regional international airport with effect from June 23, 2023.
The tourism minister Kirati divulged this information on the occasion of the 24th National Conference and Annual General Meeting of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA).
He further reiterated that formal talks with Chinese side is going on these days. There has been no international flights from Pokhara airport for the last five month after the inaugural of this airport though regular domestic flights are being operated.
The Himalaya Airlines, which is operating international flights from Nepal, conducted a test flight on this airport, but there has been no international flight so far, according to the airport office.
Although Tourism Minister Kirati said that there will be chartered flights from Pokhara to various cities in China, he did not reveal which airlines will fly.
