Chinese climber Xuebin Chen dies during oxygen replacement
An elderly Chinese national (52 ) is among the deceased ones while climbing the highest peak in the world, according to Lakpa Sherpa, director of the 8K Expedition Agency.
Sherpa informed that Xuebin died in the South Summit area at 8,000 meters above the 8K International Everest Expedition Team ‘B’ on Thursday morning.
Sherpa further said that the Everest expedition team comprised a total of 13 international climbers including 5 from Russia, 3 from India, 3 from Mongolia, and 2 from China which was led by Russian national Victor Voldin.
In the entire history of tourism, this spring season has seen the highest number of Everest climbers and more than 160 climbers have landed their feet on the Everest peak this season.
