Nepal to observe 2080 BS as Nepal Tourism Decade and 2025 AD as special tourism year

Kathmandu: Nepal government’s new fiscal year programs and policies made public on Friday (today) divulged that the English year 2025 will be observed as the special tourism year, while the Nepali year 2080 BS will be celebrated as the Nepal Tourism Decade.

President Ram Chandra Poudel while addressing the parliament with the government’s annual policies and programs on Friday said so.

“The 2080s BS will be celebrated as the decade of visiting Nepal. The year 2025 AD will be celebrated as a special tourism year,” said President Paudel.  President Paudel also said that famous personalities at the international level will be invited to promote tourism in Nepal.

Similarly, honoring climbers of Mt Everest will be conducted in various categories for the promotion of tourism, he added. He also said that the government is inclined to restructure the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) as well while domestic and international airports and terminal buildings will be upgraded to boost the tourism standards in Nepal.
