Lumbini car comes into operation in Butwal

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has formally inaugurated the commercial operation of Lumbini car in Butwal on Thursday, June 8, 2023 amidst a formal program held at the bottom station of the cable car in Goalpark Bamghat.

The cable car which is extended in 3km area from Goalpark Bamghat of Butwal to Tinahu Rural Municipality-3, Basantapur in Palpa district is more likely to attract more Indian tourists from Gorakhpur and neighboring areas.

This is reported to be the first of IME Group investment in Lumbini. The cable takes the passengers to the Bhagwati temple, Ganesh temple, and Kailash mountain.

The cable car operation in this region is expected to boost the economic growth of    Rupandehi,   Palpa,   Nawalparasi  and Kapilvastu districts.

The bottom station of the cable car is 230 meters above the sea level and the top station is 940 meters above sea level.

It takes around 10 minutes to reach the top station of this cable car. Investors are mulling over constructing infrastructure of five Star hotel at the top station too.
