First international flight from Pokhara Int’l Airport

Kathmandu: Pokhara regional international airport is to see its first international flights after a long hiatus.

The first international flight will be operated by Chinese Sichuan Airlines. The Sichuan Airlines received the permission to operate this flight from June 21 according to the Civil Aviation  Authority of Nepal. (CAAN).

The Chinese airlines will fly from Chengdu Airport in China on June 21. CAAN also informed that discussions are being held to operate regular flights to Pokhara.

The airlines is carrying the Chinese players who will be participating in the Boat Race to be held in Pokhara.

Although, Pokhara airport was inaugurated on January 1, 2023, the airport has been able to operate only the domestic flights.
