Manang Air helicopter with five Mexicans on board missing

Kathmandu: The Manang Air helicopter with five Mexicans reportedly on board has gone missing near Lukla after it flew from Solukhumbu to Kathmandu this morning according to the authorities at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

The Manang Air 9NA-MY helicopter with 6 passengers on board had flown from Surke in Solukhumbu to Kathmandu which lost contact at around 10 am this morning said airport sources.

The rescue operation has been expedited to locate the missing helicopter. Altitude helicopter is being sent on the rescue mission said the authorities.

The helicopter is piloted by senior captain Chet Gurung, the airport sources said.
