Nirmal Purja skydived in Everest region

Kathmandu: Reputed Nepali climber Nirmal Purja is reported to have skydived in the Everest region.
The media reports quoted Nirmal Purja saying that he was skydiving to bolster Nepal’s economy and tourism sector.
Purja also stressed the potential to promote employment prospects in the area. Nirmal is the world record holder for climbing all 14 high mountains above 8000m.

Meanwhile, the Nepal government’s Department of Tourism has asked mountaineer Nirmal to furnish appropriate explanations for skydiving in the Everest region without obtaining prior permission from the department, though his skydiving organizer Elite Expeditions claimed that required permits were taken for this skydiving by Nirmal Purja.
