Laxmi puja being observed
Kathmandu: Laxmi Puja, a day dedicated to the worship of the Hindu goddess Laxmi, or Goddess of wealth is being observed across the country to mark the five-day Tihar festival which commenced on Saturday.
To mark this occasion, most of the houses across the country are decorated with butter lamps, candles, and electric lights that illuminate the surroundings. It is said that on this night the Hindi Goddess of Laxmi visits every house and enters the house where she sees more light and decorations.
Various cultural groups during this occasion at night visit houses wishing for the well-being of the people. The houses offer eatables and money to the Bhailo groups.
