Over 24,000 foreign tourists visit Annapurna region

According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the total number of tourists who visited the Annapurna region includes 7,479 tourists from South Asian countries and 16,930 from other countries.
The ACAP regularly maintains the data of only foreign tourists entering the Annapurna circuit and the number of domestic tourists is not recorded.
The heavy influx of domestic and foreign tourists in the Annapurna region is driven by the motive to reach the various destinations along the Annapurna circuit including Annapurna Base Camp, Mt Mardi, Ghandruk, Tilicho Lake, Thorangla Pass, Upper Mustang, Ghodepani etc.
It may be recalled that even United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres had also visited the Annapurna region in his recent visit to Nepal.
