Mustang local bodies demand for removal from prohibited list for tourists

The three local bodies demanding freedom from the prohibited zone list include Lomanthang, the whole of Loghekar Damodarkunda, and the Baragung Muktikshetra rural municipality-3.

According to the chairman of Lomanthang rural municipality, Tasi Narbu Gurung, this demand has been put forth to the government of Nepal with the view to boost the inflow of foreign tourists in these areas as foreign tourists have to pay higher costs for entry fees to visit these prohibited areas which as marred the high inflow of tourists and adversely impacted the local economy.
