First snowfall in Humla and Mustang

Kathmandu: Normal life across the hilly regions of Humla, Mustang, and Dhorpatan has been crippled due to the first snowfall in these regions.

According to the locals the snowfall is taking place at the lower belt along with Simikot and snow up to around one foot has filled up at the northern areas of these regions. So is the case at Namkha areas due to snowfall.

Incessant snowfall has adversely affected regular flights and passengers are stranded in Simikot though the local farmers are glad enough to have snowfall.

Similarly, in the Mustang district, this season’s first snowfall since last Monday has elated the farmers after a long drought period. The snowfall is going to be prospective for their cereal crops and vegetables.

Likewise, the snowfall in Dhorptan has caused cold as the Dhorpatan Valley got blanked with snow this year said Kul Bahadur BK, a local of Dhorpatan.
