Humla’s Limi : An excellent destination

After China blocked the Hilsa border crossing to Mansarovar Kailash, one can visit Mansarovar Kailash from Nepal’s Limi Lapcha as an alternative.

Now Limy Lapcha has become an excellent destination for domestic and foreign tourists. In recent times, Limi Valley has become the only place in Nepal to visit Mansarovar. Kailash Mansarovar can be clearly seen from Lolung in Limy.

This area is at a distance of one hundred and five kilometers from Simkot, the headquarters of Humla. If the road is to be upgraded, it will be easier to travel through this route than Hilsa.

The number of people who go on foot to see Kailash from Lolung in Limi has also started to increase.

How to reach Limi Lapcha? 

After a four-day walk from Simkot, the headquarter of Humla, one reaches Lapcha in Limi Valley. You can stay in the village for two days, but you must have a tent, food, etc. for two days.

In two days, you can spend the night with the shepherd while observing the beautiful scenery. Chepal Lama of Namkha said that one can easily go to Mansarovar from Lapcha.

Those who go to Limi Valley must carry food, tents, waterproof jackets, bags, warm clothes, trekking shoes, walking sticks, medicine, etc.

He said, “Because we have a culture of searching for salt with a gold pillow, this lime lapcha has disappeared.” Humla is the only district where Kailash Mansarovar is visited from Nepali land, but it has been overshadowed due to lack of publicity.

Religious Beliefs of Kailash Pilgrimage

There is a belief in Humli that one goes to heaven when one visits the religious shrine of Kailash Mansarovar. This area is considered a holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists.

Mansarovar, which is an attractive tourist destination, is visited by pilgrims throughout the year, but the best time to go there is from June to August.
