Nepal to retain second position in 13 SAG

Kathmandu: As 13th South Asian Games (SAG) comes to an end by Tuesday evening, Nepal is to retain its medal tally in the second position after India that continues to top the medal tally.

Nepal grabbed a total of 196 medals with 49 gold, 54 silver, and 92 bronze, while India retained its first position by collecting a total of 294 medals with 159 gold, 91 silver, and 44 bronze.

Similarly, Srilanka in the third rank holds a total of 236 medals with 39 gold, 79 silver, and 118 bronze. Likewise, Pakistan has collected a total of 124 medals including 32 gold, 37 silver, 55 bronze to maintain its 4rth position in the medal tally.

Bangladesh has a total of 132 medals in its name with 19 gold, 32 silver, and 81 bronze to remain at the rank of 5th position while the Maldives holds 4 medals in all with 1 gold and 3 bronze to remain second-last in position.

Bhutan is at the bottom of the SAG with just a total of 19 medals including 6 silver and 13 bronze medals to its credit by today. Bhutan is playing final in football with Nepal today. If Bhutan can defeat Nepal in the final match, it can earn a single gold from SAG.
