Rs 2.68 Billion Allocated for Tourism

Kathmandu: Minister for Finance, Dr. Yub Raj Khadiwada said that the government has set aside Rs 2.68 billion to promote and sustain the infrastructure of tourism in the country.  

Presenting the budget for fiscal year 2019/2020 to a joint session of parliament Dr. Khatiwada said, “Nepal Visit 2020” will be launched to enable our country to be an attractive, safe and daring tourist destination in the world, for which sincere and serious efforts to expedite campaigns are on.”

He also said that new tourist destinations will be identified and infrastructures developed to boost up the latent possibilities of tourism sector to achieve the nation’s goal of attaining peace and prosperity.

 “Mountain, agriculture, rural, water, religion, culture, sports, historical and health-oriented tourism will be well integrated into tourism program for which a new trail from Darchula to Taplejung will be initiated,” said the Minister Khatiwada.
