According to Abilash Gurung-Chairperson of Ramkot Homestay, Ramkot is a hill village, nearly 1,500 meters above sea level. Gurung recalled the quotation of Geographer Dr. Harka Gurung, who once mentioned that a wide range of panoramic views of Manaslu, Lamjung, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna is possible only from Ramkot hill.

“A Gorkha Memorial Park is being constructed in the village to commemorate 17,000 Gorkhas, killed during the world wars,” added Gurung.

The rural municipality has allocated the budget to run the Ramkot Homestay and devised a key plan to construct a natural garden at the entrance of the village to develop Ramkot as one of the popular tourist destinations.

Five houses of the village serve as the homestays. These homestays can accommodate 35 guests. The community is developing an additional number of homestays to accommodate the rising number of tourists in the village. Ramkot is only 17 km away from Sangjya bazaar and Pokhara, the capital of Gandaki province.
