Spiritual tourism to attract more tourists

Kathmandu: The participants of an interaction program organized at the backdrop of visit Nepal 2020 said that spiritual tourism should be promoted in Nepal to attract more tourists.

The program was organized by Tourism Development Entrepreneur Association (NTDEA) in Kathmandu recently.

Speaking during the program, Director General of Department of Tourism Danduraj Ghimire called upon all concerned stakeholders to come up with tourism packages related to spiritual tourism.

NTDEA president Nirajan Tiwari urged the government to focus on the development of essential infrastructure of destination for spiritual tourism in the country.

“A well planned ‘Buddhist circuit’ should be developed to bring more than 80 million Buddhist tourists to Lumbini,” said tourism entrepreneur Bikram Pandey Kaji.

Addressing the program, Achyut Guragain of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents, Kanchan Ghimire of Arts of living, Suman Ghimire of Nepal Tourism Board and Achyut Sigdel of NTDEA also highlighted the importance of spiritual tourism.
