The park has been successful in preserving the endangered wild species like one Horned Rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger and Gharial Crocodile.

How to get there?

Since this park is hardly 100 km far from Kathmandu, you can take a bus via the main road or take a cab or go by plane to Chitwan to rest at one of the comfortable hotels and lodges to start your jungle safari the next day.

But don’t worry. Plenty of travel agents associated with Chitwan Jungle safari are available in Kathmandu, who can manage your tour.

You can enjoy the most thrilling, exotic and fantastic jungle safari by watching the rare one-horned Rhino and Bengal tiger and can have a regal experience of watching the living flora and fauna by sitting on the back of elephants like Kings and emperors.

Plenty of comfortable lodges can give you a feeling of home away from home. You can visit indigenous Tharu huts (homestays) at a stone’s throw and enjoy their traditional cultural dances and have a glimpse of ancient Nepal.

Tharu homestays will welcome you in ecstasy as they believe that guests are Gods in disguise. Tharus are the most trustworthy persons. You can also watch the exciting elephant race when it is organized at Sauraha.
